This position is located in the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), National Institutes of Health (NIH). EDI is charged with enforcing the federal Equal Employment opportunity (EEO) laws for all NIH employees and applicants, establishing and maintaining a model EEO program, and fostering a workplace environment that is committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).Qualifications: You qualify at the GS-15 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Leading department or agency programs that deal with Equal Employment Opportunity, Civil Rights, Reasonable Accommodations, and/or Harassment; 2) Leading department or agency programs that deal with DEIA; 3) Managing numerous DEIA priorities, in a fast-paced, complex or federated environment; and 4) Utilizing communication software applications to develop new DEIA informational materials to include, flyers, brochures, graphics, imagery, videos and products for print or online distribution.
The ideal candidate for this position would possess a Juris Doctor (JD) for the purpose of conducting legal sufficiency reviews of Racial and Ethnic Equity Plans, settlement agreements, EEO policies and procedures, NIH policies, plans, and procedures, final agency decisions, and letters of acceptance/dismissal; creating EEO-related policies and procedures; delivering training to customers by providing case law updates of seminal EEOC case law, and overseeing the legal work products of EDI staff. (A JD is preferred, not required)
