Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of teams engaged in operation and maintenance of drilling, power generation/distribution & auxiliary system equipment utilized in an offshore drilling environment.
- Optimize equipment preventative maintenance activities & ensure alignment of these activities with regulatory guidance and corporate performance objectives.
- Assist in improving the reliability of equipment by implementing preventative maintenance routines & strategies based upon the principles of reliability engineering & continuous improvement.
- Participate in incident investigations using various root cause analysis methodologies.
- Advise in the procurement, refurbishment, and repair of industrial electrical equipment, including development of technical specifications and QA/QC standards.
- Provide technical input into the development of capital & operating expense budgets.
- Plan & manage complex maintenance projects (>1M).
- Facilitate communications between internal & external stakeholders related to the operation & maintenance of industrial electrical equipment.
- Cultivate a safe and healthy work environment by assuring employees follow standards, procedures, and are in compliance with legal codes and regulations.
- Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs.
- Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
- Perform other duties as required.
- Associate degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.
- Completion of an Apprenticeship in electrical discipline or equivalent military service in a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in maintaining electrical equipment within an offshore environment, including power generation, electrical power distribution, drilling equipment, and auxiliary systems (e.g., Siemens PLCs, ABB drives, Kongsberg Vessel Management System).
- Willing and able to travel up to 25% (domestic and international).
- Possess or able to obtain a valid Transportation Workers’ Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Possess or able to obtain a valid US Passport.
- Experience ensuring compliance with regulatory and class guidance (API, ABS, DNV, USCG, etc.)
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis (TapRoot, TopSet, etc.) and/or Incident Investigation.
- Experience with Quality / Continuous Improvement / Reliability Engineering / Structure Problem-Solving methodologies (LEAN, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Intermediate or greater proficiency with IBM Maximo software.
