Job Summary
Reporting to the Terminal Superintendent, Maintenance Technician position is generally accountable for the planning, scheduling, field coordination of maintenance personnel and leading of work programs aimed at ensuring the reliability and operability of the terminal’s I&E equipment. These activities are expected to be conducted safely, cost-effectively, and reliably and must be delivered in a manner that consistently adds value to PPEM’s business process.
Dimensions
The availability and reliability of instrumentation and electrical equipment are key requirements in ensuring
the continuity of the business process at PPEM. Under direction of the Terminal Superintendent, the position leads the hands-on preventative and corrective I&E maintenance efforts in assuring the availability and reliability of all I&E equipment in support of the operations of the terminal. The position must demonstrate evidence of sound interpersonal skills, advanced technical skills and experience in undertaking preventative and corrective work programs and repairs to the terminal’s I&E equipment. The position is constrained by costs, spare parts, availability, safety and environmental considerations to meet pre-planned product delivery commitments. The position must consistently strive to minimize any plant downtime that may be occasioned by I&E equipment failure.

Nature & Scope
The position essentially plans, schedules and executes preventative and corrective maintenance work programs as directed by the Terminal Superintendent. The position develops procedures, risk assessments
and assigns work teams to complete tasks of installing, servicing, overhauling repairing and replacing I&E components; plans organizes, monitors and participates as required in the actual implementation of preventative and corrective maintenance of the terminal I&E equipment; coordinate, as required, contract maintenance staff; prepares operational and statistical reports concerning the maintenance function; prepares work orders and cost estimates and verifies accuracy.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Oversees day-to-day maintenance activities for the rail and truck facility, and pipeline operations inclusive of control systems
2. Oversees the creation and implementation of I&E related MOC’s.
3. Plan, organizes and oversees the implementation of preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance activities for I&E equipment inclusive of electrical transmission systems
4. Leads troubleshooting and maintenance of rotating equipment, including preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance
5. Lead daily operations, repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of the plant and all associated equipment and systems.
6. Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot facility equipment with facility operators and Mechanical
Technicians
7. Oversee custody transfer and other calibration type activities
8. Lead support crews on overhauls, shutdowns, or outages
9. Responsible for preparation of operational and statistical reports concerning the maintenance function
10. Oversee and prepareswork orders and cost estimates
11. Maintains a safe work environment
12. Performs other general maintenance activities as required
13. Oversee development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures and the preventative maintenance program and database, including maintaining documentation, records and training documents.
14. Must reside within 1 hour of the Phoenix Park Hull Terminal due to being on call.
Job Specifications
Minimum Acceptable Academic Qualifications
Engineering Technician Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Technology or related discipline/program
OR equivalent combination of education, technical training, and experience in a Facility Operations
AND
Minimum number of years of Relevant Experience
3-5 years maintenance experience in an oil and gas production facility and/or terminal operations
Specific Skills or Knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with operating, testing, troubleshooting technical systems in a manner that is safe to personnel and the environment.
- Advance knowledge of the operation of rotating equipment e.g., compressors, pumps
- Knowledge and certification in relevant Electrical codes and standards
- Knowledge of PSM elements and processes used to incorporate into the facility maintenance programs
- Knowledge of NFPA 58
- Conversant with MS Office Suite
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Self-driven and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross functional teams
