About ECU Health EastCare
ECU Health EastCare provides critical care air and ground transportation service and is the only medical transport service in the region accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems. There are nine ground units—six mobile ICUs, including one dedicated to children’s transport, and three BLS ambulances. EastCare’s five air units cover nearly 300,000 miles during more than 3,500 flights every year and are based in Bertie, Craven, Nash, Onslow and Wayne counties. All units provide rapid transportation and advanced medical care to critically ill and injured patients, including trauma, cardiac, medical, high-risk obstetric, burn and pediatric patients, and more.
Position Summary
The growth of the transportation system has created daily challenges and complexities that require 24 hour direct supervision of transport processes and staff to ensure the needs of the patient, department, hospital, and region are met.
The supervisor will be accountable for the operations of the helicopters, mobile intensive care units in Greenville and regional bases, ALS and BLS services during his/her assigned shift. This will include human resource management, collaboration with physicians, internal departments and regional hospitals, and timely coordination and appropriateness of patient transports.
Minimum Requirements
NC RN license or NC Paramedic Certification is required.
For RNs, Associate degree in Nursing is required.
2-3 years related experience required. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
ACLS, BLS, PALS. NRP and TNCC or PHTLS/ITLS must be obtained within 6 months (before completion of orientations). EMT must be obtained after 1 year off of orientation for RN. One specialty certification for example, CFRN or FP-C must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
2 years from an ICU/ER area or high call volume area for Paramedics
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week - benefits eligible.
