Summary of Position:
This Superintendent, Production Operations supervises the daily district production operations activities through Foremen and their crews. This position is responsible for the safe, effective, and economic installation, operation and maintenance of oil and gas production operations across the assigned region.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the production team and other departments to ensure workplace is safe and environmentally compliant.
- Supervise company production foremen across the assigned region.
- Oversee the operation of local field offices including invoice flow.
- Ensure the proper testing and allocation of production fluids at multi well Central Tank Batteries.
- Coordinate as necessary with well servicing, completion, engineering, drilling, materials, frac and HSE groups.
- Responsible for maximizing production at minimum cost.
- Recommend and implement maintenance and cost reduction programs.
- Recommend changes in production operations and work with the Manager and engineering on implementing changes.
- Monitor volume performance vs plan; engage with engineering and contract resources when needed to arrest volume decline
- Active participation in the well work program; ensure execution is profitable; Participate and drive engagement in well reviews and post workover analysis results.
- Understand downtime drivers and ensure root cause issues are addressed to mitigate them
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with surface owners and community leaders.
- Works closely with facility engineers on new facility designs. Brings operational experience to planning meetings.
- Commission new facilities, ready for start-up and handover. This includes mechanical completion validation along with automation, instrument, electrical, rotating equip and safety equipment commissioning.
- Ensures that the people and processes required to maximize base production are in place and functioning.
- Ensures quality reporting of base production and analysis.
- Accountable for performance results of assigned area including base production and EHS. Provides learning’s and design/SOP feedback to planning, development, well engineering group, facilities and Base Subsurface groups.
- Develops and manages to area forecasts and budgets.
- Provides performance management continuous skill development opportunities for direct reports.
- Build effective internal and external relationships
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Extensive experience in production operations and adjacent disciplines such as I&E, compression, chemical, measurement and artificial lift design
- Preference for experience in multiple onshore basins and unconventional rock and production
- Exposure to multiple fluid composition types and various flow inhibition or hazards (scale and H2S)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach and develop 3-8 production foremen
- Also responsible for cultural development down into the organization to the production leads and lease operators
- Appropriately engage with and set expectations for cross-functional teammates (dotted line reporting)
Education & Experience:
- 12 years plus experience in oil & gas
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Proven leader
Travel Requirements:
- Travel required to the Civitas Permian field locations.

Base Pay Range: $165,000 - $194,800
