Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, or other financial activities within the organization.
The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and risk management purposes
Prepare Management reporting packages
Review financial statements and exception reports on a daily basis
Prepare calculations and adjustments to account for investments and derivatives
Assist with auditor requests
Assist in the preparation of in-depth cost and profitability analysis of business lines, customers, generating offices, etc. and communicate results to management
Perform reconciliations and other control functions required of the department
Participate in the Branch’s innovation and process improvement projects by identifying areas in need of improvement, suggesting improvements to the processes, and implementing the identified improvements
Must maintain courteous, professional and effective internal and external working relationships
Must provide timely and appropriate responses to requests for information and/or customer complaints or concerns and provide appropriate follow up to ensure issues are resolved
Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback in a cooperative and professional manner
Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish
Effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees
Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position
Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed)
Travel as required
Provide coverage for other positions as requested
Ability to carry and lift boxes and objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other accounting and reporting related software, as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
CPA preferred, not required
3 years of banking experience in Accounting/Finance or similar experience; or
2 years of experience at a public accounting firm
