SalaryClub SciKidz MD offers science and technology Summer Camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Jr. Counselorsto work in our camps in Severna Park. The Jr. Counselor position is only for high school students at least 16 years of age.
Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. We ask for a commitment of at least 4 weeks. Staff hours are approximately 8:15am-4:15pm and one before and after care a week. Pay for Jr. Counselors ranges between $460-$470 a week and is dependent on their grade in school and experience working with kids.
We are looking for folks who:
- Enjoy working with children
- Want to gain more experience working with children
- Want to help children learn and have a fun science & technology camp experience
- Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
- Can commit to work at least four weeks between June 17th-August 2nd. Additional opportunities to work in August if able to commute to our Odenton location.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Supervising campers
- Helping counselors & instructors implement the lessons and activities
- Helping keep kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
- Have fun with what you are doing
- Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled)
- Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
