Job Description
Interns join a mission where they learn more about how we've become one of the most trusted nonprofits brands in the industry.
ALSAC's Program offers an immersive experience where interns experience our culture, contribute to organization's goals through projects, and build relationships with team members and senior leadership. During the summer internship, interns are assigned to a day-to-day manager where they are with provided meaningful assignments. After 12 weeks, interns will truly understand what it's like to be a part of the ALSAC/St.Jude. ALSAC/St.Jude was selected as the 100 best internship programs in the U.S. in 2022 by WayUp and Yello.

ALSAC Summer Intern Innovation Project: Throughout the internship, interns will have a chance to connect with innovators from across ALSAC and learn the art of Design Thinking. Interns will work in teams, be creative, and participate sessions to help prepare them to present their projects to ALSAC's CEO and members of our Executive Leadership Team.
  • Start Date: May 20, 2024
  • End Date: August 9, 2024
  • Hours: 40 hours a week (Monday-Friday)
  • Pay Rate: Based on work location
  • Work Location: Offices in Sothern California Area (Final candidate can choose which office to report to a few times a week but there may be occasions when asked to be at a specific office location to help with tasks for an upcoming event)

  • Santa Ana Office: 201 E. Sandpointe Ave. Suite 300, Santa Ana, CA 92707

Requirements:
  • A passion for our mission!
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Must be comfortable with Zoom and Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Actively participate in the Summer Intern Innovation Project through cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders and your assigned project.
  • Ability to work in a team environment but also work strong independently.
  • Ability to be organized and detailed to balance several projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

Specific Internship Description and Preferred Skills:
Our team is a diverse group consisting of relational Philanthropic Advisors engaged in principle gift work, gift planning, and bequests as well as experiential Development Directors who engage in donor acquisition through events like Radio, Dream Home Giveaway, Walk/Run, Galas, Promotions and Collegiate work. Our strategic focus is on high wealth individuals, strategic corporate partnerships, and diversity & inclusion outreach to Asian Americans and the Chicano/Latino/Hispanic community.
  • Manage local social media content creation and calendar.
  • Assist with strategy to increase engagement on local Facebook and Instagram pages.
  • Assist with Dream Home event logistics.
  • Assist with Walk/Run team and partner recruitment and cultivation.
  • Work closely with the lead Development Director in charge of the event to achieve campaign goals.
  • Assist with logistics for upcoming fundraising events:

SoCal Walk/Run in September 2024 in Long Beach, CA
Invest in Hope Dinner in September 2024 in Los Angeles, CA
Hope for the Children Dinner in September 2024 in Los Angeles, CA
Bakersfield Dream Home in August through November 2024 in Bakersfield, CA
Majors preferred: Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, Communications, and any other related major
Skills preferred: Social Media, Microsoft Suite, Marketing
