Job Summary
Edmund Burke School, an independent school from grades 6-12, seeks Middle, and High School
Substitute Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. Subject areas include humanities, science,
math, languages, PE, and the arts. Substitute positions are for one or two days.
Substitute responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing classroom instruction that aligns with lesson plans and curriculum provided by
- Maintaining established routines and procedures of assigned classrooms
- Sharing class progress with regular teachers
- Communicating effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and family as needed
- Taking attendance and sharing updates with appropriate administrators
- Covering classes as determined by the school, ranging from Humanities to Science to
- Maintaining student confidentiality laws and procedures
- Supporting a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Essential Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from a 4-year college
- Classroom experience with middle or high school students
- Flexible schedule
