We are recruiting for a Substance Abuse Counselor to work in our Marshall house in Green Bay. This position is responsible for Substance Abuse counseling of adult correctional clients referred to the program AODA programming must be delivered in a secular manner free of religious components, following the agency prescribed curriculum. The person in this position is responsible for maintaining credentials required for the position. Collaboration with other staff, supervisors, and agents is vital and communication must be maintained. The person in this position must demonstrate professional conduct and respect for each client, maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards.
Develop treatment plans based on each client's individual needs.
Complete and maintain accurate records of progress, services provided, treatment plan, and other required information.
Counsel clients in group sessions, using the approved curriculum provided.
Conduct orientation intake sessions of individuals referred to in the program.
Evaluate client participation by monitoring behavior, attitude, and progress.
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, criminal justice, or related field.
- Substance Abuse Counselor (SAC-IT, SAC or CSAC) credentials through the state of WI.
- 3 years experience in counseling and facilitating cognitive based programming.
- Experience working with correctional/AODA clients.
