Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Under the supervision of the Assistant Director and the Director of the Satellites, the Satellite Manager is responsible for and held accountable for all services provided by the satellite through liaison activities between patients, physicians and staff.

2. Supervises Satellite staff assigned to the facility in support of the medical care of the patients, works under the direction of the Medical Staff.

3. Responsible for obtaining and preparing laboratory specimens and maintains required documentation and quality controls.

4. Provide orientation of new staff, documents orientation and performs annual evaluations of facility staff.

5. Monitors, evaluates and attends to all physician and patient concerns.

6. Provides statistical data including activity reports and other reports as indicated.

7. Fulfills the duty and responsibility to maintain competence and to continue personal and professional growth.

8. Responsible for front desk duties to include, registration, scheduling, documentation and payment processes.

9. Maintains equipment and supply inventories within budgetary guidelines.

10. Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities in the facility and with other service areas.

11. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness while maintaining patient safety and quality of care.

12. Demonstrates the ability to be an advocate for and strive to protect the health, safety and rights of the patient.

13. Interactions with patients and colleagues demonstrate compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth, and uniqueness of every individual, unrestricted by considerations of social or economic status or cultural beliefs.

14. Communicate effectively with other care providers (physicians, nurses, business office, and medical records) to provide for continuity of patient care and to meet the needs of the customers we serve.

15. Demonstrates ability to fulfill requirements of attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping practices.

16. Behaviors and interactions demonstrate a positive attitude, personal initiative and motivation to achieve the goals of the unit.

17. To uphold the standards of the profession and organization and practice ethically and with integrity.

18. Travels to other Satellite facilities for coverage as needed.

19. Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education required and/or preferred:

REQUIRED: BLS

PREFERRED: Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy training

Licensure/Certification

PREFERRED: Medical Assistant Certificate

PREFERRED: Two years Medical Office experience including at least two years phlebotomy experience.
