Job Purpose: This position will support the print and digital communication efforts of the School of Nuclear Engineering. The communication assistant will have the opportunity to build his or her own portfolio of work through this employment opportunity. This position reports to the Marketing & Communications Associate.
Hours Worked: Applicants must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours and up to 20 hours per week, during the hours of Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Job Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Under the supervision of the Marketing & Communications Associate, the employee will assist with the regular and special communication-related projects of the school. These projects may include:
Writing news announcements and articles for the School webpage.
Updating existing print and electronic publications, including posters, brochures, flyers, and PowerPoints presentations.
Developing social media content
Creating new print and electronic publications.
Assisting with event preparations and photography.
Updating School webpage, using HTML.
Meeting regularly with Marketing & Communications Associate
Equipment used: Computers, photocopier/scanner, camera
Salary Level: $12.00/hour
Desired Start Date: negotiable
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelors degree at Purdue University, West Lafayette
Required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Canva.
- Experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
Preferred
- Photography skills, including photo editing.
- Previous experience in marketing, advertising, communication, public relations, or related field.
