The University Union and The WELL on the campus of Sacramento State are looking for a student photographer to capture stunning, well-lit images of individuals, small groups, and events that exemplify campus life throughout the academic year.

This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.
Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript), or driver clearance. Applicants will be required to pass required pre-employment checks to the satisfaction of University Enterprises, Inc. (UEI) and the hiring Agency or Department.
UEI does not allow employees to hold more than one UEI Job at a time, or work in more than one college or center per pay period. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI Student Assistant positing should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice.
Prerequisites
Students working at the University Union or The WELL must be attending classes at Sacramento State during the regular term (Fall, Spring), and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester units for graduate students.

Work Schedule
Shifts available Monday-Saturday. Schedule varies.
Hours per week will vary, but typically range 5-10 hours per week during the semester.
Additional Work Schedule
Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (winter, spring & summer).
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with a DSLR camera.
- Demonstrated experience working on a Mac.
- Demonstrated proficiency in editing, enhancing, retouching, color correcting, and resizing photos on a computer with digital asset management.
- Demonstrated experience shooting in RAW.
- Demonstrated ability to create artificial light, using flashes and reflectors.
- Demonstrated ability to work in and adapt to different lighting environments on a regular basis.
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure situations.
- Demonstrated ability to set up, mount, and install photographic equipment.
- Must have a good eye for composition.
- Professional level of organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, take directions and work in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience taking photos of concerts and low light performances.
- Previous experience taking photos of athletic and other fast action events.
- Photography major.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Photograph athletic functions for The WELL, which will include but are not limited to climbing events, intramural sports, group fitness events and special events.
- Occasionally photograph functions at The University Union, which include but are not limited to UNIQUE Programs events (concerts, lectures, comedy shows, live performances), art gallery exhibit and events, Games Room events and special events.
- Photograph other University Union and WELL related events and programs, as needed.
- Capture individual and group shots, as needed.
- Review sets of photographs, select the best work, process and edit accordingly, and upload to a shared drive in a timely manner.
- Manage digital assets.
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers, and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation.
