Job Description:
U-Haul International Inc. is seeking a Structural Drafter for its Construction Department. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide design services for Architectural, Structural, MP&E permit submittals.
o Proficient in AutoCAD 2015+, RISA and ENERCALC
o Prepare building plan designs and drawings
o Load and stress calculations
o Selecting appropriate construction materials
o Providing technical advice
Additional duties:
o Coordinate production of commercial building plans for construction and permit
o Analyze structural elements and load capabilities of existing buildings
o Communicate value engineering options and design build techniques
o Design structures to withstand stresses and pressures imposed through environmental conditions and human use
o Ensure buildings and other structures do not deflect, rotate, vibrate excessively or collapse and that they remain stable and secure throughout their use
Requirements:
o Familiar with design and construction using cold formed steel (load bearing, shear walls, etc.), structural steel, concrete, CMU/Masonry, wood and other materials
o Some travel may be required
