Strategic Account Manager (Remote)


We are looking for a Strategic Account Manager. In this role will be responsible for management of a Key OEM accounts for the vertical. This role will include high level networking with senior management within the customer organization to develop the strategy and business plan to grow the business of Oerlikon Surface Solutions (OSS). The position will in addition be responsible for the commercial management, aligning the customer needs to the current and future total OSS turnkey solution. The position is customer orientated and will be focused to support the voice of the customer. The overall objective is to pro-actively position Oerlikon Surface Solutions as the market leader in the Vertical through value-added approaches of strategic and key accounts.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Major OSS account ownership for assigned key OEMs/ first tiers.
  • High level networking in the SAM – drive top down/bottom up innovation
  • Develop global account strategy to drive sales growth
  • Overall lead for regionally managed KAMs in the specific vertical.
  • Training of local sales / product managers, supports and coaches Key Account Manager
  • Management of the commercial portfolio for the vertical including global product introduction (positioning, place, pricing, promotion).
  • Support application replication/training with KAM’s for value added sales.
  • Drive key vertical global OSS projects.
  • Member of R&D project boards and supporting key CSC project realization across OSS and regional projects.
  • Contracts, support NDAs, LTAs, JDAs.
  • Support complex pricing proposals across regions / business units.
  • Input to sales and market release material & associated communications.
  • Supports global exhibitions, conferences, events, seminars, webinars
  • Develop value stories, lead promotional activities like technical papers, articles, social media, etc.

Your Profile:

  • University degree (natural science, materials, engineering, economics)
  • Strong knowledge and existing Network in the Vertical Industry
  • Proven Commercial track record in in a multinational company in a technical industry
  • Business, Marketing strategy development experience on international level
  • Strategic, analytical and conceptual strengths
  • Very strong project management competence with a proven track record in managing complex projects in different locations and cultures
  • Dedicated, convincing personality with the ability to establish effective working relationships with different personalities independent of formal structures
  • Very strong negotiation and communication skills, integrator with the ability to engage others
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, open and positive mind-set with experience in international and cross-cultural business environment
  • Flexible to substantial travel internationally
  • English language compulsory
  • German or French desired (other languages beneficial)

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $ 120,800.00 to $151,000.00 per year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
