Job Summary:
The Store Operations Process Design Specialist is responsible for leading the design of assigned retail processes for new and existing initiatives, ensuring that processes are designed to be fully executable by our Store Operations associates. Responsible for leading continuous improvement teams across the organization to create optimal business functions and processes, continually focused on driving reduced complexity for our associates.
Principal Duties:
- Design and implement a standardized framework to assess all proposed new and existing initiatives that have an impact on the stores. Lead business partners to create the processes of how associates will work based on new initiatives brought to the team.
- Provide process expertise to assess the level of complexity within the assigned focus area (Food Service, Inventory Management, etc.) when appropriate. Lead process improvement methodology and use process maps to identify improvement areas, risks, critical paths and impact of process change to drive innovation, find solutions and optimize business opportunities.
- Conduct multi-faceted analysis in order to fully understand the touch points impacting new initiatives in order to design and implement an effective solution. Share complex results in a format that is easily understandable for partners/end users.
- Manage cross-functional projects involving new process initiatives impacting the stores. Drive and communicate initiatives throughout the organization. Collaborate with strategic partners to determine appropriate process and system strategies to support new initiatives and implement solutions that add value.
- Develop tools, methodology required and solutions to support new initiatives and updated programs, focusing on end to end processes and procedures for Store Operations to ensure consistent design of executable processes within our store environment to simplify processes.
- Develop, monitor, and execute program plans based on formal program methodology. Define methodology and approach to solve complex business problems. Define the metrics and program roadmap by which ongoing success will be measured.
- Partner with Operations Support teams, ensuring proper hand-off between testing to rollout phase and ongoing conversations for any processes that require a re-build. Provide specifications and requirements to IT in order to automate developed solution.
- Lead ideation processes across the business that ignite and inspire creativity to bring out the best ideas within our organization. Partner throughout the business to lead ideation sessions on key areas of operation focus.
- Assist in the design and implementation of an efficient and effective testing process to ensure store associates can routinely achieve the desired quality, customer experience, and business result without interfering with other related store processes.
- Develop, monitor and execute program plans based on formal program methodology, specifying goals, managing issues and risks, strategy, budgets, scheduling, contingency plans and allocation of available resources.
- Partner with the organization to define business case and goals to ensure they are accomplished and in alignment with business objectives.
- Manage issues, risk management, escalation processes, and continuous improvement through our portfolio management system (Keyed In).
- Benchmark other companies and research new capabilities that might be useful to simplify the associate experience in our stores.
- May provide overall direction and support for team and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence. May also provide feedback, coaching, support, participate in hiring decisions/performance appraisals/career development conversations when appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred - MBA a plus
- Minimum of 5 years related business experience, with extensive Process Design experience
- Deep knowledge and understand of the critical cost drivers of retail operations and the ability to identify and take action on opportunities
- Demonstrated ability to drive results through cross-functional work teams
- Prior experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications
