Primary Job Function:
Assisting our culinary beach team as a seasonal dishwasher beginning in late May & ending September 1st. The right candidate will be considered for full time employment at the end of our season. Shifts will be mostly days with occasional nights for dinner service & events. Candidate will also assist the Main Club team per our business needs. We're looking for a strong candidate who's looking for career progression.
Qualifications:
Must be able to continuously stand and walk a minimum of 8 hours.
Must be able to bend, kneel, push and pull over the course of a shift.
Must be 18 years of age.
Must have a reliable form of transportation to and from work.
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and oral.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10lbs. & occasionally up to 30lbs.
Education: High school or equivalent education required.
Previous dishwasher experience required.
Responsibilities:
The steward position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods.
Complies with Country Club of Fairfield operating standards & procedures.
Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and dressed in accordance with Country Club of Fairfield’s standards.
Strong attention to detail and communication abilities.
Anticipate Club needs and respond urgently and appropriately to any concerns or requests by upper management.
Able to consistently perform tasks with little direct supervision.
Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers.
Prep. materials for dish machine by thoroughly rinsing and sorting all soiled dishes, glasses, tableware and other cooking utensils.
Inspect all materials after removal from dish machine to ensure they meet our Club standards of cleanliness.
Sort and stack cleaned materials after allowing to dry.
Return all cleaned & dried items to their appropriate storage areas.
Maintain appearance, safety and functionality of dishwashing area by setting up and breaking down as needed, sweeping and mopping floors in al a carte and banquet kitchens, and beach kitchen when scheduled at that location.
Manual dishwashing required for larger items such as pots, pans, trays, and specific kitchen equipment.
Responsible for removing waste & recycling from the building to the proper receptacles outside in a timely fashion, as well as maintenance of the outdoor waste receptacle area.
Conduct general restaurant and Club deep cleaning as directed.
Monitor and manage equipment in order to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
Other duties as directed by any upper management.
This job operates in a kitchen environment.
This role routinely uses sinks and dishwashers and tools to clean kitchen appliances.
Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals.
Will be occasionally required to perform job functions outdoors and be exposed to sun, heat, humidity and other elements.
Must be able to work a flexible shift that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and extended shifts.
