Sterile Processing Technician

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and cleanliness of medical equipment used in patient care. This is an important position that requires knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, aseptic technique, and Sterile Processing procedures. Duties: - Receive, inspect, and decontaminate medical instruments and equipment - Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established protocols - Sterilize instruments using appropriate methods such as steam, gas, or chemical sterilization - Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning - Package and label sterile items for distribution - Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance - Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies - Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician preferred - Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology - Familiarity with medical terminology and surgical instruments - Understanding of aseptic technique and infection control practices - Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals If you are looking for a rewarding career in healthcare where you can contribute to patient safety, we encourage you to apply for the position of Sterile Processing Technician.
