We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use. Your attention to detail and adherence to aseptic techniques will be crucial in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Receive soiled surgical instruments and equipment from the operating room
- Disassemble, clean, and decontaminate instruments using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
- Inspect instruments for damage or defects and report any findings to the supervisor
- Assemble instrument sets according to established protocols
- Sterilize instruments using various methods such as steam autoclaving or chemical sterilization
- Monitor sterilization processes to ensure effectiveness
- Maintain accurate records of instrument processing and sterilization cycles
- Restock sterile supplies in operating rooms and other areas as needed
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures at all times
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to surgical instruments and procedures
- Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Job Type: Contract
Salary: $30.63 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
