Job Title: STEP-UP Partnership Liaison & Instructional Assistant (Part-time/Temporary)

Summary of Position:    The STEP-UP Partnership Liaison & Instructional Assistant will serve as a primary point of contact and communication hub for all School of Integrated Learning and Development partnerships with K-12 schools. They will be responsible for monitoring and communicating with stakeholders on student progress, preparing status reports, recommending and directing students to institutional support services, assess candidates on Course Program Requirements & Pre-Evaluation Checklists, and serving as an encourager and motivator as student's progress toward degree completion. As Partnership Liaison, the role will manage partnership MOUs, monitor candidates to ensure identified students complete enrollment steps and communicate student progress with the school partner.

Students enrolled in the STEP-Up program will be enrolled in one of the initial licensure programs, possibly including the CBE-Elementary Transition to Teaching program. As the STEP-Up Instructional Assistant, the role will coach, assess course work, and monitor all students progress including Master Assignment progress and completion, need for future registration, field work completion, and standards of academic progress.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partnership Liaison:
    • Understand accreditation/licensure requirements for initial licensure programs including timing and expectations and be able to clarify as needed for/with students and partners
    • Serve as a primary point of contact and communication hub for all SILD partnerships
    • Track partnership MOU process
    • Track partnership student application completion, enrollment, and registration
    • Actively review, engage and monitor student and partnership data, including analyzing data and making updates and recommendations to the SILD leadership
    • Actively engage with partner schools
    • Work collaboratively with other university departments to ensure student admission, enrollment, registration, and field placement are all done according to program standards and timelines
    • Utilize appropriate technology to monitor and track partnership status (ex. Smartsheets) 
  • Instructional Assistant
    • Serve as the student's primary point of contact for support throughout STEP-Up Program
    • Asses/grade candidates on Course Program Requirements & Pre-Evaluation Checklists, including providing academic or content feedback as appropriate
    • Monitor student progress, collect certificates of completion, and enter grade for CBE First Look (Orientation) class
    • Serve as a coach and mentor to CBE Transition to Teaching program of study students encouraging students towards licensure completion
    • Proactive weekly outreach to students by phone, text and email for the first six weeks
    • Consistent calls and follow-up with students after the initial six weeks until program completion
    • Utilize CBE progress tools in BrightSpace and PowerBI to monitor, track and report student academic progress (SAP), completion of program requirements
    • Provide Financial Aid Office, advising, instructor and other applicable stakeholders weekly student progress reports
    • Communicate with course faculty of record related to student's progress
    • Communicate any student issues/concerns with correct university or partnership entity; work to identify and implement solutions
    • Monitor and maintain the CBE student connection BrightSpace hub

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, in education or applicable field

Experience

  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn teaching accreditation, licensure requirements, and Competency Based Education distinctives
  • Familiar with online learning management system/courses
  • Life coaching, teaching or educational administration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and backgrounds
  • Skills or willingness to learn project management, data collection, and data analysis
  • Skills in or willingness to learn technology and software programs to provide efficiency to the work (Smartsheets, PowerBI, Sharepoint, etc.)

Required Skills
