JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Overview
The STEAM & Computer Science Summer Camp Instructor has a passion for technology and possesses a proficient understanding of Computer Science fundamentals. They are inspired by computers and technology and are excited to share their excitement with younger generations. They are confident leaders, comfortable teaching small groups of elementary and middle school-aged students, and can create a learning environment that is fun and engaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a fun learning experience for students enrolled in iCode STEAM programs.
- Teach and inspire students during Summer Camp activities, with materials and training provided by iCode.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to meaningful learning and sparking interest in technology.
- Provide constructive feedback about student progress, class material, and student dynamics
- Assess, record, and report on the skill development and behavior of students.
- Provide weekly communication and updates to student parents and family when asked.
- Treat all students equally and fairly.
- Embody the standards of a positive role model.
Qualifications
- Experience/familiarity with basic principles of programming with the ability to use and talk about at least one common programming language, such as HTML, JavaScipt, Swift, Lua, Python, etc.
- Experience/familiarity with online multiplayer gaming, the principles of gaming design, and the ability to lead students to complete challenges with common multiplayer games Minecraft and Roblox.
- Strong knowledge of both Windows 11.
- Positive attitude, outgoing, and excellent people skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with other instructors and coworkers to lead classes as a team.
- Strong problem–solving and analytical skills.
- Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or Seniors enrolled in Computer Science related college coursework are strongly encouraged to apply.
- High School students interested in pursuing careers in technology and having strong leadership skills can apply.
Expectations
- Stay on schedule as provided by a campus director, clocking in and clocking out per campus policy.
- Must stay off social media and personal cell phones while at work.
- While on the clock, employees’ time is 100% committed to iCode responsibilities and student engagement.
- Performs tasks within the timeline provided by a campus director.
- Must adhere to HIPAA and all confidentiality guidelines.

Pay: $900.00 per week
