We’re looking for talented and highly motivated frontend or full stack software engineers to join our small remote team. You will work closely with our customers and other parts of the company to build out and world-class technological solutions for the agricultural industry. *PLEASE NOTE: This is a full-time, direct hire, W2 position. How the position fits in the organization
The Staff Software Engineer role is a key role that operationally leads the development of meaningful significant portions of our frontend applications. This role reports to the VP of Technology. You may work fully remote or join us in one of our offices.
Key contributions
● Design systems that reflect the real-world complexity of running farms, overseeing commodity processing, and managing commodity market risks.
● Deliver clean, modern, testable, well-documented code.
● Review designs and pull requests providing feedback and helping teams make better decisions.
● Work closely with our VP of Technology, Product Management team, and business partners to distill complex business problems into elegant technical solutions.
● Manage your own / team’s workflow to meet the deadlines, which you will have set with the VP of Technology and business stakeholders. Nudge the team to take ambitious, but also achievable, goals.
● Build and launch products rapidly and incrementally.

We’re pragmatic about our technological choices. We outsource non-core technology whenever possible, allowing us to focus on the technology that provides the most value to the business and our customers. We choose the best tool for the job, given the experience and expertise of our team.
Our frontend web applications are typically written in Typescript, using the Ember.js framework and Tailwind CSS. We use a git-based deployment pipeline, serving the frontend applications from Netlify, Cloudflare, or similar managed CDNs.
What we hope you bring to the team
● BS in Computer Science or a related fields from an accredited college or university
● If degreed (Bachelors or Masters), minimum of five years of professional experience
● In non-degreed, minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
● Proven experience building non-trivial web services.
