Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Controller to join our finance team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing comprehensive accounting tasks, including financial analysis, account analysis, day to day and general ledger accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen and proficiency in accounting software, particularly Quickbooks. Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with ownership in presenting financial information and support decision-making processes relating to operations of the restaurant group.
- Prepare and present financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
- Support the accounts payable process, including invoice processing and payment reconciliation
Skills:
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar accounting software required
- Experience with financial analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and account analysis
- Technical accounting skills, including the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
