Job description

This position reports to the Controller. Full-Time, on-site position with hybrid opportunity after training (3-4 days work from home, if desired). Non-Exempt (overtime eligible). Standard workdays and operating hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5pm.
General Function
Perform duties in various functions of the Accounting department, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Regulatory Reporting and Premium Cash Application.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

· Collaborate with the Manager - Payroll and Benefits to process semi-monthly and bonus payrolls as required.
· Assist with Employee Benefit related tasks as needed.
· Review employee timecards.
· Prepare various journal entries including payroll, prepaid expenses, and Board & Committee expenses.
· Respond to employee inquiries relating to Paylocity.
· Assist with review of Employee Expense Reports to verify proper documentation and required department approvals.
· Assist with review of Premium Refund requests.
· Assist with Accounts Receivable function in a backup capacity.
· Assist with Accounts Payable processing.
· Assist with user support for employee expense reporting software.
· Assist with company auto program, including imputed income.
· Assist with processing of Loss and LAE payments.
· Perform analysis of various expenses as assigned.
· Prepare routine reports to supplement financial statements.
· Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual regulatory filings for various states.
· Assist in the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statement filings.
Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) continued
· Prepare various items for budget as assigned.
· Assist with preparation of various items for financial statement audit as needed.
· Assist with preparation of various items for the federal income tax return.
· Assist other accounting staff during peak periods.
· Participate in cross-functional teams.
· Meet or exceed supervisor's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
· Contribute to SVMIC's success by identifying opportunities and making recommendations that may lead to improved processes.
· Regular and predictable on-site attendance required.
· Ability to work remotely as business needs allow.
· Complete special projects and other duties assigned.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relevant Experience Required
Minimum 2 years specialized and related experience.

Frequently required to reach with hands and arms and utilize a computer for significant periods of time. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
