Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant. This is going to be a temporary position with our company, the new hire's period with us will be from April 1st, 2024 to August 16th, 2024. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Including general accounting duties, assisting Controller, and keeping Account files in order.

Employment Type: (Temporary) April 1st, 2024 to August 16th, 2024

Compensation: $36/hr.
Core Processes and Activities:

• Write checks and make deposits: Prepare all checks to be deposited/scan checks to be deposited.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing mail: Stamp date incoming mail, distribute internally, scan relevant items for Controller.
• Reconcile Oil & Gas remittances and prepare journal entries.
• Send Oil & Gas correspondence to Oil & Gas managers.
• Record brokerage statement income and transactions (Prepare monthly financial statements).
• Obtain signatures for all money movements.
• Sends out invoices as needed and posts general journal entries (General accounting filing).
• Reports monthly sales tax activity.
• Helps with any building maintenance request or tenant needs as necessary.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
• Maintain current cash balances.
• Maintain weekly petty cash.
• Account for company credit card charges.
• Answers telephone calls when needed.

Job Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of accredited college or junior college.
• 2-4 years of on-the-job accounting software experience.
• Experience with Sage accounting system (recommended).
• The ability to maintain confidentiality is critical.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
