Job description
The role of the Accountant is to support the Financial Controller in providing the firm's accounting, Accounts receivable and procurement process. The candidate will prepare the companies, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports whilst maintaining compliance with GAAP, auditing requirements and corporate accounting policies. Furthermore, the accountant to the Controller will assist with providing on-time and accurate financial and operating performance information, including detailed financial analysis required by management and the company and department managers. The position is based in Tysons corner (Hybrid).
Key Responsibilities:
Assist during monthly closing process including account reconciliations, allocation calculations, and balance sheet detailed supporting analysis.
Prepare customer invoices and manage the billing and collections process (40%)
Process accounts payable and credit card payments (10-20%).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with account executives regarding contract details.
Develop new accounting processes to increase accuracy and efficiency
Reconcile bank accounts weekly.
Provide support when needed for other daily accounting operations (tax, revenue accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable)
Track and analyze expense performance against budget.
Manage an ARR by customer on an ongoing basis.
Collaborate with the team to complete requests from external auditors, tax accountants and other advisors.
Assist with the implementation and rollout of new systems to scale various processes across the department.
Requirements:
2 to 5 years' experience in accounting
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Willingness to dig into the details, problem solve, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to remain focused in a dynamic environment.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and highly organized.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Knowledge of applicable AP, AR and GL systems and corporate procedures, preferred.
Experience with QuickBooks a plus
