Job Description
The Staff Accountant -- Inventory is responsible for assisting the Inventory Accounting Manager in performance of all accounting responsibilities.
- Monitor, analyze and reconcile GL activity and account balances.
- Inventory database closing, review of monthly Inventory reports, monthly journal entries prepared, uploaded, sent to approver and posted.
- Interact with the Maintenance department to ensure proper valuation and coding of inventory transactions.
- Assists in the preparation and presentation of the quarterly Inventory Variance Analysis meeting.
- Miscellaneous monthly reports, analysis of accounts, meetings, and special projects as assigned
- Meet monthly with FP&A analysts, Materials Management and Accounts Payable teams to review monthly inventory activity and account balances.
- Special projects and additional tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Undergraduate college degree in Accounting or Finance
- Computer literate -- MS Office, Excel, Access, PMI, Oracle
- Advanced excel skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Previous hands on inventory accounting experience
- Experience with Oracle software
- Airline industry experience
