Form of workAs a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting financial operations. You will be responsible for assisting with various accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and budget analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by compiling and analyzing financial data.
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during external audits.
- Review and process expense reports, invoices, and other financial transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial analysis and support decision-making processes.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Qualifications of the Staff Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
