Sr.Training Specialist- (Commercial Underwriting)

What You'll Do: As a Training Specialist you will analyze, design, develop and implement training needs for the Commercial Underwriting Department. You will provide training to underwriting staff, enabling employees to develop skill levels to achieve company goals and objectives in the states of Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah. Other duties as assigned may include:
- Develop and create Commercial Underwriting curriculum for each specific Commercial Underwriting role.
- Develop and create an in-person Commercial Underwriting Training designed for new employees.
- Lead Commercial Underwriting training calls that focus on Training and QA opportunities.
- Coordinate all phases of the Underwriting Department curriculum development and training functions.
- Collaborate with personnel to identify specific areas where training is needed and develop training programs to help ensure compliance with Underwriting Best Practices, as well as various federal and state laws and regulations.
- Coordinate training of underwriting staff by outside personnel when necessary.
- Assist the PC Ops Education Manager and Education and Compliance Director with the hiring processes and new team member training.
- Work with the claims and underwriting Quality Assurance Specialist on identified training issues. Research and implement alternative methods of instruction to meet identified needs.
- Provide training and assist with the development of new team members.
- Monitor the success of training by reviewing and analyzing audits with the Compliance team.
- Assist Commercial QA with file reviews when necessary.
- Work with the Commercial Claims Department, and Agency Training on specific training needs when necessary.
What It Takes to Join Our Team:
- College degree or equivalent plus seven years of relevant experience required. Three years of underwriting training experience required.
- Advanced degree or Industry Designations preferred.
- INS 21/22 required.
- Possess strong leadership skills.
- Ability to develop an adult learning curriculum, teach, strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Some travel may be required (including overnight stays).
- Must have strong knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations and the ability to stay current with those regulations.
- A valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Records are required.
- Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
