Overview: The Senior Trade Marketing Managerrole will be an exciting challenge in an fast-growing environment with a strong focus on delivering marketing strategies across omni-channel retailers. You will be acting as a business driver, translating brand strategies to relevant Trade Marketing strategies, to ensure achievement of marketing, commercial, and financial goals. This position requires full engagement and efficient communication across functions/teams (Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Sales, Paid Media, PR & Influencer Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) to align and implement the brand strategy in retail while ultimately achieving business goals.
Responsibilities:
Trade Marketing Programming
- Develop sales tool kits (e.g., selling stories, go-to-market decks, merchandising guidelines) in support of new product launches and key marketing initiatives, ensuring balance and appropriate focus among product lines
- Help provide a true omni-channel experience for consumers by ensuring that brick-and-mortar and e-retail plans including product portfolio, launch timing, promo & pricing are well aligned
- Contribute to new product and key initiative launch dates per marketing calendar, product availability, customer rules of engagement
- Contribute to initiatives sizing, customer allocation decisions with Sales leadership team when necessary
- Partner with Brand Marketing, Paid Media, and Sales teams on customer level retail media plans, flighting, and creative assets; maintain strategic customer e-commerce brand stores
- Ensure clear lines of communication between Trade Marketing, Brand / Product Marketing, Paid Media, and Customer Teams
- Commercial Readiness: Act as key partner to Sales team to ensure commercial readiness for new product launches and key marketing initiatives is met by all cross-functional team members (brand / product marketing, social media, PR)
- Review launch forecasts, challenge markets forecast, monitor, and communicate after-launch results to improve short-and long-term forecast accuracy and product lifecycle
- Track merchandising assets development and timing delivery to Sales teams; keep asset tracker up to date for all initiatives and ensure weekly communication to customer teams
- Support Sales with development of accurate planograms and visual merchandising guidelines
- Own commercial input on discontinuations and coordinate discontinuations process with customer and supply chain teams. Lead cross funcational communication on sku rationalization, customer discontinuations, and product changes
- Pricing and Promotions: Input into pricing strategy to identify opportunities on cyclical and development projects. Own pricing hierarchy, new initiatives price positioning, and process. Contribute to promo visibility for marketing trams
- Support fiannce team with tracking promo effectiveness at strategic customers and identify opportunities to improve ROI
- Performance Analysis: Ad hoc performance management reporting: i.e., new item performance tracking, monthly business review insights and implications
- Business Intelligence: Bring relevant commercial and product development actions via applicable market/consumer insights
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of relevant Trade or Customer Marketing experience required; Consumer Goods or Durables experience is preferred
- Brand / Trade / Customer Marketing experience, supporting delivery of effective Joint Business Plans
- Strong communication skills with an ability to outline and reinforce the Trade Marketing strategy
- Experience using Nielsen, IRI, or NPD synidicated data to develop compelling category insights and sales stories
- Strong decision making and interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at the most Senior levels
- Commercially astute with strong business sense and excellent problem solving / analytical skills
- Agility & ability to drive solutions that meet both brand marketing requirements and commercial realities
- Team-working ability and excellent communication skills.
