Position Summary
The Senior System Administrator is responsible for the daily operation of the MedRisk systems environment with a specialty in messaging and cloud technologies using Azure and O365. This includes issue resolution, issue prevention, maintenance and tasks and projects as assigned. The Senior Systems Administrator will provide technical direction and support to all administrators and junior administrators. This position will also work closely with other teams to design, implement, secure and support systems that utilize cloud technologies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure that MedRisk’s messaging systems are online, available and performant. This includes administration of Azure, O365, Teams as well as VMWare, Microsoft Windows (and any other operating systems), storage and networking. Administration includes capacity planning, reacting to and resolving issues as well as interacting with other system administrators.
Tasks may include;
- Administering/Troubleshooting and engineering solutions using Microsoft Windows Servers/VMWare/Cisco technologies not limited to;
- Designing, Implementing, Administering and troubleshooting solutions using Azure, O365, Teams and associated connectivity.
- Designing and implementing secure identity and access management solutions using Active Directory, Azure(Entra) and OKTA.
- Supporting Microsoft technologies in relation to the above as needed including SQL, SharePoint, file and print servers.
- Designing, implementing, operating, supporting and administering VMWare using vMotion, DRS, Provisioning new machines, ESXi updates, FT/HA.
- Utilizing vROPS to manage VMware environment.
- Utilizing NSX, Azure networking to secure and connect resources in the VMWare and cloud environments.
- Administering/troubleshooting and engineering solutions using Cisco switching, routing.
- Securing systems with Cisco firewalls, Azure firewalls, conditional access policies, and mobile device management tools.
- Ensuring email is safe, secure and free of malware, phishing, etc. using Mimecast.
Qualifications
- One or more industry certifications such as CCNA, MCSE or VCP.
- 4 year degree preferred
