Job description

Minimum Requirements:
Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related degree and two (2) years job experience in a network environment with a working knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite is required. A MCSE certification (desktop Infrastructure) and a working knowledge of VM, Java, and .Net environments are preferred.

Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Technology Manager or the Deputy Treasurer, the incumbent is responsible for the daily operation of the Treasurer’s Office computer systems and peripheral devices; install, configure, and support the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. Assists in Data Processing Area network administration for all computer hardware and network applications. Administer network security measures. Responsible for training of the employees in the Treasurer’s office in regard to network systems and security protocols.

Duties:

  • To develop and maintain all computer systems within the Treasurer’s Office.
  • To support and train employees in the use of all computer systems.
  • To ensure that the network is operational and provides services to all users.
  • Deploys, configures, maintains and monitors PC hardware and software, as well as printer hardware.
  • Maintains and administers computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Maintains security access to various county systems such as: County Network, Tax Collection systems, Internet software applications, License Division applications, Special Tax Division applications, Fiscal Department Banking Software, Tax Collection Web inquiries.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software.
  • Responsible to review the issues log and incoming issues and resolve them or triage them, as appropriate.
  • Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determines the types of service and intervals necessary to ensure efficient equipment operation in a cost effective manner.
  • Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Maintains the computer supplies inventory and equipment service contracts.
  • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replaces defective components when necessary.
  • Maintains computer hardware, installs software and device drivers.
  • Set-up new users, workstations, and printers and assists users with all desktop applications.
  • Furnishes comprehensive recommendations for necessary changes to enhance employee productivity.
  • Data entry in various databases as needed.
  • Assists in other Treasurer functions to include but not limited to: Data sales, dog licensing, bingo, small games invoicing.
  • Initiates projects directed by the Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer(s).

Knowledge of:

  • Problem solving by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making and how it pertains to the Treasurer’s Office.

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with end-users and technical peers.
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • Remain calm and even tempered.
  • Work effectively under stressful conditions.
  • Physically: sit, stand, lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Read, write, type and perform data entry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Experience level:

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
