Sr. Supply Chain Network Operations Manager

Salary: $100,000-$180,000/year

The Role

This role oversees the organization’s post-production Supply Chain operations. Specifically, this role has the responsibility of managing finished goods inventory across the Supply Chain, establishing and managing freight providers, and managing our 3PL partners. Across these areas, this role is responsible for performance reporting, upholding high service levels, managing costs, delivering continuous improvement, and interfacing internally with stakeholders in other departments.  The role will involve frequent interaction and communication with external 3PLs, managed freight providers, and other Supply Chain vendors. 

To ensure completeness of work, the individual will utilize various reporting tools and generate ad-hoc reports as needed to provide management with proactive feedback and recommendations and to validate and manage toward more optimized workflows. 

Strong team management, coaching, and mentoring are expected. This role requires collaboration, support, and leadership on various initiatives, both self-generated and as directed by management, all in line with corporate strategy.  

This is a full-time (40h/week), salary-exempt, fully remote role with some travel required. The salary range is $100,000- $180,000/year. 

Responsibilities

• Finished Good (FG) Inventory Mgmt.: 
  • Tracking and reporting out inventory levels across the Supply Chain – between co-mans, in-transit, and 3PLs.
  • Addressing and proactively preventing inventory gaps between warehouses through frequent interaction with demand planning and the SIOP teams
  • Understanding production schedules at all co-manufacturers to plan freight and schedule receipts into the 3PL warehouses.
• Freight management: 
  • Oversee managed transportation services and partnerships. Improve processes and performance over time to advance towards the company’s strategic goals in OTIF and costs.
  • Support freight optimization, freight bids, and cost review to ensure competitive rates.
  • Serve as primary Supply Chain department partner to IT in rolling out and implementing EDI.
• 3PL Management:  
  • Responsible for 3PL warehouse operations, including measuring and managing their budgets, performance, and workflow efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure proper capacity levels, efficient stock turnover, and minimize holding costs.
  • FEFO, SSL, and special allocation protocols that minimize obsolescence. 
  • Inventory accuracy, counting, reconciliation processes, and KPIs.
  • Drive warehouse process improvements in partnership with 3PLs to improve service levels and reduce costs for MRO.
• Team Management: Supervise a team of inventory professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team’s success and achievement of KPIs.
  • This role will manage our inventory specialist and three Supply Chain Assistants.
• Lead optimization projects and analyses: Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within relevant functions. Conduct cost and inventory analyses to evaluate.
• Reporting: Using Excel and other data tools, prepare and analyze Supply Chain reports to manage areas of responsibility, including providing daily/weekly/monthly reporting and analysis. This includes proactive recommendations or actions to management.
• Budget Management: Work within budgetary constraints, monitor expenses, and identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining service quality.
• Some travel (<25%) may be required, with advance notice provided to the employee.
• Other responsibilities as required and directed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced logistics environment. 
  • Logistics/freight management experience is required.
  • Experience with a facility with warehouse operations is strongly preferred.
  • Inventory management/optimization experience is required.
• Highly analytical and capable of leveraging numerous data resources to analyze issues, drive action, and measure/track KPIs.
• Must be proficient with MS Office (proficient in Excel).
• Complex budget and cost management experience.
• Experience with Managed Transportation freight programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience managing teams.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. 
• This role involves sitting most of the time, but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
