The Sr. Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. ...
Maintains the general ledger.
Oversees the coding and allocation of invoices, set up new accounts, reconciliation of accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reviews monthly cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged and allocated to the appropriate accounts.
Assists with preparation of annual operating budgets, reports for grantee Governmental agencies and other miscellaneous projects.
Tracks and monitor grants and spenddown activity.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software
Manages the purchasing and invoicing activities.
Investigate and resolve accounting issues as necessary.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Knowledge of Federal grants management policies and procedures.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software and various accounting software.
Bachelor???s degree in accounting or related field is required
At least five years of general and grant accounting related experience is required.
