JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW:
The Coding ETM Senior provides one on one and departmental direction of ETM staff as well as monitors performance standards and the daily workflow of the Coding Department to ensure corporate goals and standards are met. Also, ensures quality coding consistent with ICD-10, corporate and governmental guidelines, rules and regulations. The Coding ETM Senior provides coding and documentation feedback to appropriate leaders within HCFS Billing Center and TeamHealth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the coding staff and ensure that departmental procedures and systems operate efficiently, and effective personnel relations are maintained.
- Answer daily questions from ETM staff as well as perform QA on all ETM coding representatives on a monthly basis.
- Monitor and adjust work assignments daily in ETM based off need.
- Create and maintain ETM Policies and Procedures and perform staff ETM education.
- Perform Level 1 QA coding reviews, as needed each month based off overflow from Level 1 Reviewer. Review with coder and answer any questions from the Level 1 reviews performed.
- Assist Trainer with ICD-10 training and questions from coding staff.
- Assist in Level 1 QA reviews of Senior staff on a monthly basis.
- Assist with CCIS updates and revisions, as needed.
- Follows all policies and procedures as well as instruct coding staff on correct policies and procedures.
- Complete special projects/reports as requested by the Coding Manager, Director of Coding and/or VP of the Billing Center.
