Position Summary:
The Senior Software Engineer role within Martin-Brower requires a combination of technical, analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate for this role should be proficient in working with Warehouse Management Systems, Distribution Processes and Cloud Computing.
Working in support and project team environments, the Senior Software Engineer provides development, support, and maintenance of Martin-Brower Business Applications. This hybrid role will be tasked with managing Martin Brower applications, its corresponding infrastructure and overall support.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Administer and manage Linux and Windows servers
- Support environment configuration through Ansible
Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and adjust or make recommendations as appropriate
Design and develop web, desktop and mobile applications - Debug software and resolve technical issues
- Perform regular system reviews and recommend enhancements
- Assist with cloud infrastructure and security implementations
- Develop custom SQL procedures, functions and triggers
- Provide level 2 & 3 support for our global logistics applications and participate in a rotating on-call schedule providing 24x7 support
- Explore new technologies through Pilots and POCs and research requests concerning application issues and/or enhancements and work closely with Business Analysts and users to clarify business requirements and design solutions appropriately
- Create deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use cases, test cases, test results, etc.
- Other projects or duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related experience
- 3+ years experience developing and supporting applications both web and/or mobile
- 3+ years experience working with databases like Oracle or SQL Server and programming with SQL and/or stored procedures
- 3+ years experience reviewing, translating, and refining business requirements into technical design, code, and test logic.
- Travel 5%
- This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with any Tier 1 Warehouse Management System such as Manhattan, Körber or Blue Yonder
- Experience working with cloud-based services
- Experience working in a 24x7 on-call IT organization
- Experience working with Ansible or any configuration management tool
