The successful candidate is currently enrolled in a BS or MS of Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field with ability to support testing of electric propulsion units and their sub components.
What you will do:
- Support testing of propulsion units potentially including:
- Dynamometer testing of Electric motors and inverters
- Environmental testing of Electric motors and inverters
- Functional testing of propellers on integrated test stands
- Certification de-risk testing (bird strike, lightning strike, overspeed etc.)
Required Skills/Experience:
- A self-motivated, fast learner with a broad set of skills and never afraid of facing complex technical challenges
- CAD experience
- A solution oriented individual with a strong analytical mindset
- A positive team player
- A strong communication and documentation skills
- Knowledge of electrical machines
- Data management and analytics
- Practical, hands on mechanical and electrical skills
Hourly rate will be $20 USD an hour.
This internship role will be based at Wisk's office in Fremont, California and relocation or housing will not be provided.
Eligibility Requirements For US
Must be able to work on-site in Mountain View, CA
Must be legally authorized to work in the US
Must live in the US at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be either a rising sophomore, junior, or senior in college
Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, transcripts are required
Must be an enrolled student at both the time of application AND at the time the internship begins
Must be able to work 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (full-time for 3 months)
