Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab services, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and elite service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

Discover Impactful Work:

Play a key role in a team of laboratory staff performing Molecular Biology/Cloning activities for Research and Development. Drive excellence in the Scientific Services program through right-the-first-time. Champion innovation and practical process improvement in the laboratory

A day in the Life:
  • Perform Qiacube DNA Preps and Plasmid DNA Preps, including 96 well, midi, maxi, mega, and gigaprep
  • DNA quantification using instrumentation (Nanodrop and Dropsense)
  • Perform transformations, colony picking, bacterial culture
  • Set up and run PCR reactions, separate products on agarose gels
  • Perform gel extractions using commercial kits
  • Reagent maintenance and ordering
  • Daily start up and shutdown of lab equipment
  • Place work orders for equipment repairs when needed and coordinate with internal service providers.
  • Inventory management of items such as lab consumables, reagents, DNA preps, and standard primers
  • Assist with shipping procedures
  • Technical writing of lab procedures
  • Provides general guidance and technical expertise to peers and clients
Keys to Success:Education
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a science related field or 2-year degree with proven experience.
Experience
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to follow written procedures
  • Ability to perform dilutions and liquid measurements.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Detail oriented and analytical; Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, Teams)
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills; including experience writing laboratory procedures

Working conditions include extensive walking/standing, ability to lift, push and pull up to 35 pounds consistently, and ability to work with carcinogenic, mutagenic, and irritant classified chemicals

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.66–$29.48.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
