Job description

About Gap

Gap has always been about optimistic American style. Starting with our very first store on Ocean Avenue in San Francisco, opened almost 50 years ago by Doris and Don Fisher. The thread that’s run through those five decades is the phenomenal people that make up our brand – our employees and our customers. People who are rooted in the legacy that makes Gap what it is, but who are also focused on the future. People who want to leave the world better than they found it.

We’ve built our brand on staying true to our roots while always being out in front of what’s next. If you want to be part of an iconic American brand, and help lead the way for where we’re headed, we’d love to have you join us.

About the Role

This position is an omni-channel role responsible for final delivery of graphic assets and marketing materials for all channels, including print, digital, social, and OOH formats.
Key requirements for this role include expert knowledge of current design software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, XD), Figma, and others. Studio artists are also expected to be proficient with the company’s suite of workflow tools, including Airtable, Pageproof, Webdam, and Sharepoint.
Expertise in delivering final print-ready mechanicals for all in-store marketing materials (store windows, in-store signage), direct mail, collateral, magazine ads, and large format printing, as well as a concurrent expertise in delivering publishable digital assets, including marketing emails, website content, and social media.
As this role will be working in both digital and print formats, a strong working knowledge of various printing platforms and prepress techniques is required, as is a similar expertise in digital delivery formats. A strong sense of design is necessary to work closely with the creative teams to support conceptual development, as is the ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with business partners across multiple channels.

What You'll Do

•    Create final mechanicals for all printed marketing materials, including retouched artwork, correct print-specific color specs, and dimensions;
•    Take raw digital assets (marketing emails, site assets, etc.), vet for correct color, typography standards, and retouched art, and slice for coding and output;
•    Ad Hoc design support as needed and approved by Studio Manager;
•    Ability to problem-solve any issues in real time on tight schedules;
•    Maintain personal daily and weekly production schedule;
•    Actively participate in creative/production handoff meetings;
•    Maintain responsibility for projects from creative hand-off through final delivery;
•    Adhere to mechanical quality standards (print) and marketing email/website specifications (digital) to ensure error-free deliverables;
•    Participate in the review of internal and external proofs;
•    Maintain the integrity of the creative concept throughout the production process;
•    Create mechanical mock-ups for proofing purposes;
•    Adhere to naming and back-up procedures to ensure proper archiving of digital assets;
•    Deliver final artwork to business partners and/or suppliers via FTP or Webdam.

Who You Are

•    Attention to detail and maintenance of the highest degree of quality;
•    Expert knowledge of different image, color, and file requirements for digital vs. print;
•    Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite;
•    Working knowledge of printing platforms (Lithography, Flexography, Screen Print, etc.);
•    Organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time;
•    Design sensibility, coupled with the desire and skill to be strong creative partners;
•    Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills;
•    Ability to apply past learning to present situations;
•    Constant drive to gain additional knowledge to improve skill set;
•    Minimum 5-7years experience and college degree;
•    Experience with creating layouts with multiple languages;
