Job Description

IDIQ is seeking a highly motivated and driven Sr. Product Owner for our product development team to support the ever-growing demands of our rapidly growing business!  At IDIQ we work in a fun, fast-paced environment creating a rewarding workplace experience.  
 
As a Sr. Product Owner, you will  be a vital part of an agile team dedicated to launching new products and enhancing existing ones. Your focus will be on crafting exceptional user experiences within our web and mobile applications and creating new integrations with our backend systems. Collaborating closely with the Director of Product Development and business leaders, you will gain a deep understanding of our company, our consumers, and how to create best-in-class solutions. 
 
Our product-oriented delivery organization (PODs) includes team members from marketing, sales, design, analytics, and technology. Our PODs work with a "we build it, we own it" mindset. Led by our Product Owners, this self-sufficient and cross-functional team works collaboratively from the start of requirements discovery to product delivery and maintenance. At IDIQ, our Product Owners truly own our products and their success.

Key Job Functions 

  • Collaborate on strategic vision: Work with product leadership to influence the strategic vision and transform the roadmap into a well-defined product backlog to drive business growth and user satisfaction.
  • Employ customer journey mapping: Enhance user satisfaction and engagement by aligning the product with user needs and identifying pain points.
  • Lead product-oriented delivery team (POD): Lead cross-functional discovery meetings uniting stakeholders from marketing, sales, design, analytics, and technology to drive the entire product lifecycle, from requirements discovery to delivery and maintenance.
  • Generate user flows and process maps: Visualize user-system interactions enhancing understanding of complex behavior and facilitating collaboration in the discovery process.
  • Design wireframes and mockups: Collaborate with design to ensure alignment between stakeholders, design, and development teams, resulting in a user-friendly interface that meets visual and functional requirements.
  • Apply Design Thinking and User-Centered Design principles: Achieve user-centric designs that drive satisfaction and engagement by empathizing with users, ideating innovative solutions, and iterating features.
  • Define analytics requirements and KPIs: Identify KPIs and reporting needs to track user behavior and product performance, fostering data-driven decisions and committing to the achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Create go-to-market plans: Collaborate on design of comprehensive go-to-market plans encompassing marketing, sales, customer support, training, and analytics to ensure successful product launches.
  • Create agile business requirements documents: Memorialize project scope, objectives, product requirements, and acceptance criteria for socialization and easy reference by other teams.
  • Employ prioritization techniques: Maximize product value by balancing customer requirements, business goals, and development capacity for optimal feature delivery.
  • Author epics and user stories: Ensure clear understanding of feature requirements by capturing user needs, supporting rationale, and testable acceptance criteria that establish the definition of done.
  • Create feature guides:  Author guides for training and customer support, ensuring teams have detailed references for efficient onboarding and issue resolution.
  • Prioritize and groom product backlog: Maximize product value by focusing development on highest-priority features, refining user stories, and maintaining an organized backlog.
  • Plan sprint backlog: Ensure a clear and achievable set of sprint goals through user story prioritization and collaborative user story sizing.
  • Lead daily stand-up meetings: Ensure efficient progress tracking, address roadblocks, maintain team alignment, and facilitate real-time collaboration.
  • Showcase Sprint Work:  Demo completed product increments to stakeholders, gather feedback, and validate alignment with user expectations and business objectives prior to final delivery and acceptance.
  • Participate in sprint retrospectives: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork by reflecting on team performance and implementing process enhancements.
  • Communicate software releases: Ensure stakeholders are informed and ready to utilize and support the features delivered by you and your team.
  • Conduct A/B testing: Gather data-driven insights, optimize product features, and enhance user experiences, driving continuous improvement and user satisfaction.
  • Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned and participate in meetings that align with offshore hours as needed to ensure delivery of assigned objectives.

Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in software product development in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with customer facing web and mobile applications.
  • Experience managing product delivery for products built on a microservices architecture.
  • Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions and to document the supporting evidence.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage different projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to find the signal among the noise and focus on the most important outcome at the current moment.
  • Ability to collaborate, contribute, and lead in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong follow-through and a focus on owning the outcome.
  • Ability to influence, be persuasive, and be seen as a trusted advisor.
  • Motivated to learn new things and continuously striving for improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to structure problems and solutions and deliver via presentations for optimal comprehension and buy-in.
  • Solid understanding of consumers, the marketplace, competition and of future trends for the consumer credit, finance, or identity theft.

Preferred Experience and Skill:

  • Experience with additional analysis tools and techniques is preferred: Data Flow Diagram, Entity-Relationship Diagram, Sequence Diagram, Value Stream Mapping, Storyboards, SWOT Analysis.
  • Experience with collaboration tools: Miro, Confluence, Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Experience with product and sprint backlog management tools: Jira preferred.
  • Experience with data analytics, reporting, and A/B testing tools: Heap, Google Analytics, Looker, VWO, preferred.
  • Experience with spreadsheet and presentation tools: MS Office products, Google products.
  • Experience in financial services, financial tech, or credit industry preferred.
  • Experience in identity theft and data security preferred.
  • Scrum or Agile certification preferred.

Additional Information

Position Details: This is a full-time salaried position (40+ hours/week). This is a hybrid position with the expectation of being on campus in Temecula, CA 2-3 days per week.

Pay: The pay range for this position is a minimum of $130,000 to a maximum of $180,000 based on a full-time schedule.  The actual compensation offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation such as commissions or bonuses.
