Each of our organizations, though completely dependent upon each other, are the experts in their area and will further drive PG&Es alignment around the customer.
Position Summary:
Modernize PG&E’s existing Meter-To-Cash (MTC) applications due to aging technology and inability to meet business needs and future functional capabilities. The core Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) application is three versions behind and is no longer on a supported upgrade path, increasing operational risk that may require costly Oracle custom support in the future. The Advanced Billing System (ABS), responsible for billing large revenue customers (approximately $3.7B yearly revenue), is over thirty years old and carries a high degree of supportability risk. The future state is to consolidate both billing systems (i.e., CC&B and ABS) and also the Meter Data Management functionality to one solution as part of the CC&B Upgrade project. This project is simply not just a billing system upgrade but, rather a replacement project which will be significantly complex and will take 3-4 years to implement and stabilize.
