POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and supporting operational initiatives focused on maximizing inventory & food cost efficiencies/management while enabling the growth of Jack in the Box. Responsible for delivering innovative solutions, process design, and continual improvement for current and future operating and management systems with the goal of margin improvement, simplifying restaurant operations, and improving the employee experience.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and executes multiple strategic and operational initiatives from the concept phase to System launch and implementation.
Leverages a design-thinking methodology that starts with problem identification/opportunities to ensure a focus on restaurant-level improvements. Projects include process evaluation and improvement of existing systems, resource planning, and process development of innovative technologies/automation. Ensures objectives are met on time and budget.
Owns continuous inventory and food cost process improvement; monitors the success of ongoing process updates, identifies opportunities for improvement, and drives innovative solutions by leveraging project management concepts, techniques, analysis, and decision tools.
Designs, develops, manages, and iterates on current and future management systems and processes to improve margin, maximize productivity, and drive operational excellence.
Identifies and eliminates inefficiencies and non-value-added tasks and ensures the maximum and efficient utilization of resources.
Independently leads cross-functional teams across departments, including IT, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, Finance, and Restaurant Training. Collaborates on and impacts projects that traverse various departments; provides strategic support to ensure projects are delivered.
Maintains restaurant-level perspective for company and franchise units to minimize the complexity of operational procedures and enable successful change management in 2,200+ restaurants. Uses field insights to challenge current processes and methods and make recommendations for improvement.
Acts as a conduit between the Field employees and Restaurant Support Center teams to gather feedback on the effect of necessary changes to simplify the Standard Operating System and drive engagement at every level in the restaurant.
Travels to test markets to collect information and provide feedback to restaurants. Works to understand whether each program is being executed as designed. Proactively works with restaurant employees and management to overcome potential obstacles of new processes.
Ensures awareness and attention to potential risks associated with assigned initiatives. Identifies and communicates key risks. Plans to develop solutions that mitigate the risk.
Participates in the communication plan for process updates and implementations. Provides subject matter expertise for communication content to support the clear and successful execution of process modification or changes.
Performs other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - Bachelors degree in business management or related field. Masters degree or PMP certification preferred.
Experience - Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, preferably with operational procedures in the restaurant industry and franchised organization. Prior experience with field P&L management and inventory management.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Requires demonstrated project management skills, with proven success of project delivery.
Working knowledge of restaurant operational systems and implementation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, ability to use PowerPoint (or similar) as story-telling tool to influence others.
Ability to impact and influence stakeholders; ability to have productive conflict and communication at a high level to drive desired outcomes. Demonstrates partnership with other team members at all levels, especially in the restaurant.

Physical Requirements - Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone. Ability to travel to restaurants and other locations approximately 15% - 25% of time as business needs require. Ability to operate a computer (PC, tablet, etc).

The range for this position is $93,300 - $132,900 and is based on an employee located at our corporate headquarters in San Diego. If the candidate is hired in a different city to work remote, we will apply a geographic pay differential based on the cost of labor in the market in which the employee resides.
