Seeking an Operations Research Analyst for mission-level combat modeling to join our team at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
Qualified candidates should be adept at effectively organizing and executing analytic studies within a team of analysts containing skills spanning a range of disciplines. Experience and familiarity with the space domain and mission-level models/tools like System Effectiveness Analysis Simulation (SEAS) or Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizing studies and analyses, specifically a strong background in mission-level modeling and simulation, the analyst will make recommendations regarding the military utility, feasibility, joint warfighter impacts of the concepts and capabilities under study
- Ability to coordinate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives
- Work as part of a contractor team working alongside a broader team of government and contract staff
Required Skills and Experience:
- Master of Science degree in Operations Research or a theoretical science field
- 7 years of experience (or 3 with a Ph.D.)
- Experience conducting end-to-end combat modeling & simulation analyses at the mission level
- Experience with SEAS and/or AFSIM
- Willingness to learn and employ campaign-level and/or defense enterprise-level models
- High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data
- An active TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- PhD in Operations Research or a theoretical science field
- Experience with more highly aggregated, campaign-level and/or defense enterprise-level analysis tools
- Experience in DoD space and joint force programs
- Experience with STORM or other related models
- Experience with Java, MATLAB, R, SAS, JMP, and/or Python
- Experience with data transformations and data visualization
- Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and MySQL or other relational databases
- Experience with BI Tools
- Experience with Excel VBA
