Position Summary
The Operations Organization requires various work groups to assess and manage the performance of assets and systems pertaining to the Company's electric generation and gas and electric transmission and distribution systems. To accomplish this business need, the implementation and management of data systems is critical to support the advanced data capture, extraction, analysis and reporting required for both regulatory compliance and business planning requirements. The Operations Data & Reliability Analyst supports the development, implementation, and management of analytical tools that facilitate data extraction and reporting. These tools typically focus on the capture, maintenance and analysis of data elements and work processes supporting the business needs of the Operations Organization. This individual will join a team of data analysts with responsibility for creating and maintaining master data for all equipment and functional locations for the Transmission Business Unit. This work is done predominantly in SAP along with the tools/systems that feed SAP. This data is vital as it supports all of our capital work, all of our existing asset base, and maintenance / compliance efforts.
Essential Responsibilities

  • Synthesizes volumes of data into work plans, forecasts, reporting, and data request responses related to asset, data, and other systems within the Operations organization. Performs data quality testing and provides data visualizations for presentation purposes.
  • Performs extraction and advanced analysis of operational, asset, performance, and financial data from multiple corporate systems utilizing a variety of query and analysis applications.
  • Development, implementation and maintenance of databases, database queries, and data analysis/visualization tools that support the Operations organization, including but not limited to regulatory, compliance, and corporate reporting through efficient, consistent, complete work processes, including automation of repetitive tasks.
  • Provides detailed data analysis, and is responsible for providing efficient, rapid, accurate and complete responses to routine and ad hoc requests by compiling Data and creating presentation materials from own work and work of others for reporting and presentation requests, both internal and external.
  • Assumes any additional responsibilities or duties that may be required during special studies to ensure effective operation of the department, including backup support to critical department processes.
  • Acts as business area expert for major applications development and continuous improvement. Influences management and technical staff regarding the content and functionality of business applications.

Minimum Requirements
  • Required: Associate degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering (or combination of education experience providing equivalent knowledge in data management, analysis or statistics)
  • 2-3 years related work experience demonstrating advanced level knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Power Point, Word)
  • 2-3 years related work experience demonstrating advanced level ability to author, develop, debug, and deliver applications using Microsoft Visual Basic Desired: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business or Engineering
  • Technical data system development and advanced analysis with related experience in data management, analysis, or statistics
  • Knowledge and experience in utility operations and related system application Knowledge of Microsoft Visio, Business Objects and department-specific applications
  • Strong analytical interpretational skills along with experience with database structures, query and report building, data analysis, data research, data requirements development, flowcharting, graphing and technical writing desired.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage and accurately prioritize multiple projects concurrently with minimal supervision while meeting schedules and deadlines to assure successful results Strong communication skills and assertiveness to ask insightful questions and learn industry-specific terminology.

Non-Bargaining
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $60,000.00 to $85,323.33 per year

Pay and benefit packages may vary based on position. Some employees are under collective bargaining agreements, which determine the benefits they will receive.
