Role:
Global IT Infrastructure team is part of the overall Digital Delivery and Operations global team and is responsible for the strategy, architecture, design, and support of AES’s global infrastructure
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Network Architect with proven expertise across large enterprise or service providers, proficient on the cutting-edge next-generation technologies, operating complex enterprise-wide LAN/MAN/WAN mission-critical networks at scale (8000+ employees and 150+ locations globally), while supporting global workloads across on-prem and cloud
Responsibilities:
Design and architect the backbone, transit, and cloud interconnect infrastructure with strict adherence to the key “ilities” – scalability, reliability, security, and high-availability
Collaborate with geographically distributed teams and strategic partners to deploy cutting-edge technology
Work with business teams to analyze requirements and translate that into solutions and executable steps
Perform network modeling, POC, Pilot testing for greenfield infrastructure
Define technology roadmaps and present to the Senior Management
Review Network Architectures for all projects in the ARB (Architecture Review Board)
Stay abreast with industry trends and ability to work in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
Write functional requirements/specifications documents and synthesize performance metrics
Ensure site and service reliability, troubleshoot, and diagnose complex issues across all ISO layers
Upgrade network hardware and migrate software components as required
Deploy monitoring in place to proactively fix problem before users notice congestion
Continual enhancement of global network infrastructure including 100+ locations, plants, and remote offices
Build and maintain Network Architectural diagrams and other related documentation
Required Qualifications:
10+ yrs of experience in network engineering
CCNP or JNCIP certified
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field
Experience designing, architecting, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting of enterprise-grade Cisco routing, switching and security appliances (VPNs/Firewalls) at a global scale
Proficient in Public Carrier SD-WAN and MPLS networks, VRF, VxLANs, NFV, and container networking technologies, Spine/Leaf fabric, BGP, OSPF, and TCP/IP protocols
Proficient with setting up POPs, Network Security, and Direct Connects on Public Cloud (GCP and Azure)
Knowledge of Network Automation Tools (IaC) - Ansible, Terraform, Cisco Devnet, Python.
Experience working with Peering, ISPs, and IP Transit providers
Experience with GLB, F5 load balancers, Wireless, DNS, Infoblox and DDI
Experience troubleshooting complex Internet/Intranet/Cloud/On-Prem/DC networking issues
Ability to understand systems at all levels – big picture enterprise view to low level technical details
Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility to work occasionally during off-hrs and on the weekend
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field
CCIE or JNCIE certified
Tooling, Scripting, and automation (ansible, go, java, python, bash shell etc.)
Knowledge of IPv6, OpenConfig and Streaming Telemetry
