Network Architect

Onsite position in Houston, Texas in "The Galleria" area of Houston (areas close: Richmond, Pearland, Sugarland, Katy, League City Humble, Missouri City, Baytown-Clear Lake Shores, League City, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Texas City)
NOT looking for folks to relocate. Must currently live in the area.

This is a customer facing position and perfect (English) communication is required. This person will be speaking to C-level folks. This is a new position open as part of their "Professional Services" offerings.
Communication and the inability to face clients are two big issues with candidates presented. The candidate needs to know that this is a hands-on position
They are looking for an Architect and have had issues with vendors presenting Network Administration candidates. They must be a Network Architect
Have had issues with folks presenting certificates, but not having the actual knowledge they should. Make sure they are strong technically
Seeking a dynamic and experienced Network Architect to join their team as part of the digital Technology services team. In this role, you will play a crucial role as a principal network consultant who will attend pre-sales calls, engage prospective clients, understand their business requirements, and create Statements of Work (SOW). This person will work closely with a Senior Network Architect on internal and external customer designs, implementations, maintenance, and projects.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain robust internal Network Architectures to support our client's operations.
Serve as a principal network consultant for external projects, providing expertise and guidance to clients on network infrastructure design and implementation.
Handle pre-sales calls, engaging with prospective clients to understand their network needs and provide insights into potential solutions.
Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into comprehensive SOW.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions into client environments.
Stay on top of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance Network Architecture offerings .
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in handling pre-sales activities, including client engagements, requirements gathering, and proposal development.
Ability to travel to client sites as needed.
Detailed oriented and organized.
Excellent documentation skills using Microsoft Office and Visio
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work early mornings and/or late nights to execute critical network changes.
Ability to learn new and unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources.
Works well in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines for deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven minimum 15 years' experience in designing and implementing complex Network Architectures, preferably in a consulting or client-facing role.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN.
Strong expertise in network security principles, including firewalls, cyber security, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access control lists.
Expert knowledge and experience configuring and operating Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and Arista switches and routers.
Relevant certifications such as CCIE, CCNP-RS, CCNP-Security, CCNP-Design, Palo Alto, and Juniper or equivalents.
Expert in Carrier technologies including but not limited to BGP, VRF Lite, ISIS, MPLS, BFD, CCC, GRE and RSVP.
Expert in Routing Protocols including but not limited to IBGP, OSPF, VRRP, VARP, HSRP, and PBR.
Expert in administering firewall policies on multiple platforms: Palo Alto, Juniper, Cisco & Fortinet.
Experience with configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and supporting network equipment, wireless access points, and firewall policies across different platforms.
Experience with cloud networking solutions, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Familiarity with SD-WAN, SDN, and network virtualization technologies.
