Responsibilities
About the Job:
The Senior Instructional Designer - HR is responsible for taking the lead in supporting GM Financial's learning needs across the organization. This individual will consult with internal customers across multiple business units to analyze, design, develop, deliver and evaluate engaging learning experiences to help employees and leaders develop the skills and competencies necessary to meet or exceed individual and team performance expectations and organizational business objectives.
- Partner with internal customers to evaluate performance gaps and/or organizational needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions through research and a consultative process
- Write, design, and maintain content for remarkable learning experiences This includes, but is not limited to design and curriculum plan documents, facilitator and participant deliverables, e-Learning modules, job-aids, activities, scenarios, scripts, etc
- Remain current on instructional design practices, adult learning theories, learning tools and strategies
- Design and develop content across multiple mediums including but not limited to classroom-based instruction, e-Learning, social learning, self-study, virtual instructor-led courses and webinars
- Manages project plans, adheres to critical dates, and communicates progress to all appropriate parties
- Partner with internal customers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to determine project depth and scope as well as critical milestones, curriculum and content
- Perform various learning admin functions within the Learning Management System and Social Learning module when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Proficiency in learning development software
- Project management skills and proven success in working on and delivering multiple initiatives
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Expert knowlege in instructional design theories
- Strong technical aptitude including experience with rapid authoring tools like Articulate Storyline and/or 3 and Adobe Captivate
- Experience as a learning administrator role within SuccessFactors and JAM
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite particularly InDesign and Illustrator
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree Instructional Technologies, Education, Organizational Development, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design, Communication, Journalism or in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- 5-7 years experience developing content across multiple mediums in a corporate environment with an available portfolio of work; experience developing leadership and management content required
