POSITION SUMMARY:
This role will work in the CCG Controls Software team and will be responsible for design, development, and implementation of residential and commercial HVAC products that meet or exceed best-in-class performance and reliability targets across multiple platforms and product families, as well as manufacturing support for existing products.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Lead Controls' new product development projects and sustaining initiatives.
- Manage individual projects throughout the complete product development cycle.
- Lead new projects with major changes and/or entirely new design.
- Lead control software qualification and agency compliance test programs.
- Interface with regulatory and test agencies.
- Interface with vendors, customers, and field personnel.
- Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing, sales & marketing, quality, and supply chain functions.
- Document control designs by preparing bills of material, drawings, and product change notifications.
- Design, optimize and qualify control software employing advanced analytical methods and experimental techniques.
- Ensure design quality, supporting your calculations and design proposals.
- Develop complex designs that are significant redesigns of existing products or new to Climate Control Group.
- Source and analyzes appropriate components to meet control board design needs.
- Provide review comments on many electrical design aspects and other engineering areas.
- Evaluate new technologies as they apply to existing functions.
- Conduct presentations for technical and business personnel.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Related Field or applicable work experience. MS Preferred.
Experience:
- 10 years design & project experience preferred. Released two or more product families.
Computer Skills:
- Experience using Integrated Development Environments (MP Lab, STM32CubeIDE, etc.)
- Experience with Programming languages (C, C++, assembly, Python, and Visual Basic)
- Experience with Version Control systems (Git, Vault, Apache, etc.)
- Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products.
- Familiar with embedded operating systems, including Linux, etc.
Certificates & Licenses:
- None required.
Other Requirements:
- Intermediate knowledge of control system design and applications, control theory, and PID design and tuning.
- Intermediate knowledge of sequence of operations, software specifications, and electrical wiring methods.
- Comprehensive experience using Integrated Development Environments (MP Lab, STM32CubeIDE, etc.)
- Hands-on skills and experience in working with laboratory equipment, test stands and instrumentation.
- Experience with the New Product Development (NPD) process, Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles.
- Experience with communication protocols (BACnet, LONtalk, and ModBus)
Knowledge of manufacturing methods used in HVAC&R field; industrial experience is a plus but not required.
