Description:
The Senior Director is responsible for daily oversight of BHS Quality, Performance Improvement, Compliance to Justice Center, OASAS, Joint Commission, DEA, NY DOH along with the creation of Corrective Action Plans and accountability to such. Through the utilization of the Performance Improvement process, this position will work with the Clinical and Nursing Educators to increase quality care measured in part by a decrease the number of Justice Center reportable incidents in each year.
Serves as the primary Departmental contact and lead for Justice Center, OASAS, Joint Commission, DOH and DEA related activities. Collaborates with Director of QA/UR and Program Leadership for the immediate response to reportable incidents, guides and facilitates the development of staff through the performance improvement process. Responsible to remain current and review all regulatory materials for compliance to meet the Justice Center, OASAS, Joint Commission, DEA, and NY DOH guidelines and to assist programmatic educational leadership to report follow up to all cases. Manages all areas of quality including SQA-55, death reports, and other required reporting for OASAS, Justice Center, and NY State DOH. Lead Special Investigations and work with Director of QA/UR and Program Leadership to submit responses to all SIS and Justice Center reports within the time frames set by the respective lead agencies.
Responsible for the development and administration of the department's performance improvement program including consulting and coaching leadership and educational team regarding appropriate indicators for the departments to conduct training and development. Provides consultation to the Associate and Assistant Vice Presidents relating to matters having to do with compliance, performance improvement and Justice Center reporting. Serve as the Department's lead to the SJRH compliance and Performance Improvement programs. Collaborates with the Senior Director of Clinical Development and Education, Director of Nursing and Education relative to annual education and ongoing staff education in the inpatient and outpatient departments. Ensures that the Outpatient utilization schedule is completed by Director of QA/UR and that all corrective action plans have been completed. Trouble shoot system issues in collaboration with Clinical Informatics and Director of Finance when necessary. Provides oversight and direction to the Director of QA/UR to ensure all aspects of the role are completed as intended.
Monitors the sustainability of all improvement initiatives and organizational commitments. Provides Clinical Programming and Staff Development data as needed. Maintains a solid understanding of nursing and clinical issues and develop targeted plans that will maximize the effectiveness of the program. Maintains awareness of resources available in the SJRH system as well as the treatment communities in Westchester County to support and actualize targeted plans, both programmatically and staff development. Maintains awareness of current clinical trends in the provision of substance abuse services to further develop Park Care services. This may include active knowledge of and/or participation in County, OASAS and/or other state and federal initiatives. Collaborates with AVP of BHS, report as required to NYS OASAS and Justice Center.
Qualifications
Qualified health professional: Either a New York State Credential Alcoholism Counselor, Registered Nurse or Certified Social Worker (LCSW, LMSW or LMHC) is required.
A minimum of three years of supervisory experience in an alcohol and/or substance abuse program is required. Master’s Degree in applicable human services field preferred.
