Your role in our team
You will write detailed design documents (i.e. Controls Architecture)
You will write, debug, and test PLC code.
You will write and execute test cases.
You will monitor internal quality of software development deliverables using design document, checklists, review meetings as needed to ensure first time right output.
You will act as the subject matter expert on realization of complex controls applications and (sub)systems. Build and configure, generate, program, test, and document.
You will finalize a design and its deliverables, according to our processes, to guarantee a smooth transition to the relevant stakeholders.
You will define planning for the work to be done, estimate the workload and lead time and communicate to relevant colleagues about changes and risks pro-actively.
You will work on technical solutions for complex functions, while respecting both Korber standard solutions and innovative technologies
You will initiate improvement actions as a competence leader to elevate the experience of other Development Engineers.
You will support projects from concept through client turnover with a positive result contribution on technical performance, financial results, and the organization
You will be involved in engineering, execution and commissioning of Material Handling Projects
You will communicate closely with other groups within KSC and project team (i.e., electrical and software engineering, mechanical engineering, project management, supply chain, sales/proposal department and installation)
You will learn new skills and stay current on latest technology (technical professional)
You will support the Koerber software standardization platform
You are capable of working on topics/issues on discipline level and exceeding the product level.
Your profile
You have a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent. Certification may be required in some areas.
You have a minimum (5) years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of PLC program development & commissioning.
You have experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider PLC languages, architecture and networks desired. Other platforms a plus.
You have knowledge of (controls) engineering theories and principles.
You have in depth knowledge of software development and test approaches
You are willing and able to travel up to 30%
You have network architecture experience using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, ASI Bus, ControlNet, DeviceNet
You have experience in Human-Machine Interface programming.
You have experience with conveyor systems (Parcel, Baggage, ASRS, Etc.), large machine design, and/or motor control desired.
You have a strong ability to document technical decisions with illustrations and clear verbal explanations.
You have strong analytical skills.
You have the ability to work on a team responsible for complex project(s)
You are a motivator and trainer for coworkers.
You are proactive and have a hands-on work ethic
You are proficient in structured text.
You are flexible and adaptable to change.
You have strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
